Holy Week invites us into a sacred rhythm: on the heals of a joyful arrival: intimate table fellowship, to the sorrow of the cross, and the hope of resurrection. This is not a week to rush through; it is a week to enter with open hearts and steady steps.
We conclude Lent with Palm Sunday worship on April 13 at 10:00 AM, as children and adults wave palm branches and cry “Hosanna!” in celebration.

Throughout Holy Week, we encourage our church family to participate in the Ecumenical Holy Week Services at Trinity Lutheran Church (304 E Ferris St.), held Monday through Thursday at 12:05 PM. These brief noontime services are a meaningful way to pause, reflect, and connect with Christians across the Galesburg community.
In addition to the noon service at Trinity, First Presbyterian will host an evening Maundy Thursday service at 7:00 PM. We are honored to welcome friends from Trinity Lutheran Church to join us for this joint service.

Holy Communion & Handwashing
This intimate, reflective worship invites us to remember Jesus’ final meal with His disciples and embody His call to humble love.
On Good Friday, Trinity Lutheran will host seven worship services, each centered on one of Christ’s final sayings from the cross. Rev. Scott Carnes will preach during the 12:05 PM service, accompanied by a combined community choir sharing a special anthem.
Every half hour brings a new preacher from the Galesburg area and a chance to reflect on Christ’s sacrificial love.
Let this week be more than tradition. Let it be a sacred pilgrimage—one that leads not only to the cross, but through it, to Easter morning.
