At First Presbyterian Church, we deeply value our role in the community and cherish the opportunity to host events that bring people together. We are especially thrilled to partner with local arts organizations, fostering a shared love for creativity and culture.
The Galesburg Community Chorus, with its rich tradition of musical excellence, has been an inspiring presence in our space this past year. Their beautiful music enriches not only our sanctuary but also the hearts of all who hear it. It has been a true joy to host their weekly rehearsals and performances throughout the seasons.
This afternoon, we were delighted to welcome the Chorus once again for their annual winter concert. The performance of Stella Natalis, conducted by Tim Pahel, blended stunning vocal harmonies with the vibrant sounds of talented instrumentalists. This year’s program embraced the spirit of the winter holidays, drawing on many religious traditions.
One of the most memorable moments of the concert was the audience sing-along, inviting everyone to join their voices with the choir for a holiday song. The sense of community and joy in the room was palpable as the music filled the sanctuary.
We are grateful to the Galesburg Community Chorus for sharing their gifts with us and for allowing us to play a small part in their remarkable work. As the holiday season unfolds, we celebrate the power of music to bring people together and look forward to continuing this wonderful partnership in the year ahead.
