Dear FPC Choir & Friends,
A few weeks ago in worship, Rev. Scott spoke about change and reminded us, in a way, that next to God's love and faithfulness, change is the only constant. Some changes are wonderful, some are painful, and some are both. And my family has some big changes coming up, the kind that are both wonderful and painful.
In recent weeks, Andre and I have been offered an incredible and unexpected opportunity to move back to our hometown in northern Wisconsin, where I will be working at the local Catholic school as the PK-8 music teacher and Andre will take on the duties of parish music and liturgy director. The kids will be able to go to school with their cousins and live in the same town as their grandparents, and we know that, as hard as it is for us to leave, for both us and them it's the right thing to do. We will be making the move in early July, which means that I'll be with you through the end of June.
This is definitely a bittersweet transition for our family. We are looking forward to new professional opportunities and being back home with our parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, but as with any change, there will be loss as well. Personally, one of my biggest losses will be you all, my friends at First Presbyterian. I feel so much regret at not being able to continue building the momentum we've started, but I sincerely thank you for your trust, your dedication, your patience, and your positivity. You have been a bright highlight of my time in Monmouth and Galesburg! I will truly miss you and I am grateful from the bottom of my heart for the short time I've spent with you in music, worship and community. I wish it could have been longer. You will all be in my prayers!
Katelyn
