September 22 we will embark on a quirky and fun adventure with Ted Lasso. Worship will be focused on a scripture that connects to aspects of the show, Ted Lasso: judging others, truth, love, cynicism, hope, forgiveness, and imperfection. Those in-person during worship will see a short clip from the show (due to copyright: we cannot livestream clips).
Ted Lasso is a remarkable (and hilarious) show that starts with an incredibly ‘good’ guy on his way to coach an English football team. The catch is that he doesn’t know soccer. He is an American football coach. His gift is not in knowing the details of the game, but in understanding people. He knows how to connect and lead with honesty and love….
The show is only available on AppleTV, but our church has permission to show episodes. Each Monday night at 7:00pm (starting on Sept. 16). Those over 17 or who attend with a parent are invited to come have some popcorn, watch an episode and have a discussion related to our upcoming worship service. We think it is going to be a lot of fun, but please be advised that although the episodes will be carefully chosen, there is unavoidable foul language and, at-times, irresponsible drinking depicted.
