Over the past year the Galesburg Community Chorus has rehearsed weekly in our church building and last night (April 27, 2024) shared their musical talents with the Galesburg area with an unbelievable concert, Carmina Burana by Carl Orff and conducted by Dr. Tim Pahel. Over the past few weeks they have been very gracious by voicing gratitude for the "great rehearsal and performance spaces" of First Presbyterian Church.
It may, yet, be our church that receives the blessings as a crowd packed the building on Saturday. By sharing our building with our community we can hope that all will come to feel comfortable in the space where we worship. By sharing our building with our community we can hope that Galesburg will know how much we care. By sharing our building with our community we can hope that First Presbyterian Church will be a congregation known for loving music, supporting the arts, and welcoming all people.
The acts of hospitality and the hardwork of those who prepared the building blessed the community chorus and the Galesburg area...but that hospitality and hardwork will also bless our congregation. It gives us a future rooted in tradition and growing with our community!
We look forward to many more concerts with Galesburg Community Chorus and invite all to be blessed by their music!
